Julia

Julia. A Chocolate Labrador. The most obedient dog I've ever met. Vivacious and full of love. My first official doggy photo shoot too :) I had such a good time with Julia and her owner, my good friend, Elisa. Taken at the Shalom Institute in Malibu, it had just rained the night before and we were worried we might have needed to cancel. But luck was on our side and the sun broke out the morning of creating the most beautiful weather for us. Everything was lush and vibrant with color. We had fun hiking around a bit in the mud. I think I'm hooked, photographing dogs that is. So if there is anyone out there that would love to have their pets photographed, sign me up.

August

August Christopher is the newest little one I was given the pleasure to photograph.

I was on standby Labor Day weekend knowing August would come at any moment. Then, on September 6 around 9pm , I received a text from my friend Curtis that August had finally arrived. He and his wife Griffen wanted me to document the very first hours of their son's life. It was an incredible experience I was honored to do. I spent a couple of hours with them the night he was born capturing the little nuances of early life. These moments brought back so much for me. Remembering Noah's very first photo taken by a NICU nurse on a Poloroid. This is the same hospital Noah was born in. I cried happy tears to be able to witness these first moments with August and his parents.

I wanted to capture some natural daylight pictures of August so I returned the next morning and spent a little more time getting some of the shots you see here.  Enjoy this miracle!

There's a Party in My Tummy

We recently helped celebrate the 2nd birthday of our good friend's son, Ethan, Yo Gabba Gabba style! My friend Susie went all out with a perfectly themed Yo Gabba Gabba birthday party. Held at Mayors Discovery Park in La Crescenta, it was as beautiful day to play and have fun outdoors.

Brotherhood.

I recently asked a friend of mine if she has any recent photos of her two sons, Caden and Carter. When she told me no, I invited her and her little ones to come along with me one Saturday morning for a fun little photo shoot. She happily agreed and the boys were game too. They had a great time as we went to this little location off Mulholland Drive where sticks and stones made for a gorgeous setting for these two. They were incredibly natural in this environment, making it easy for them to relax and have fun, and easy for me to really capture both of their personalities. Here are some of my favorites. Hope you like 'em :)

Disney twenty-three magazine did an article on the very talented artist Megan Brain. I was lucky enough to shoot the how-to photos of the creation of a paper sculpted Cheshire Cat. The link above is the D23 web article. You can also find the full printed story in the spring 2010 issue of Disney twenty-three.

I had the opportunity to shoot the inside of Disneyland's prestigious restaurant Club 33. Click on the link above to see the article.
